A bonus view in wintertime
I stood on the swing bridge over the canal and looked east. The little wharf is outside the grounds of the Stonehouse Court Hotel, built beside St Cyr's church, whose graveyard can be partly seen just behind and to the left of the big tree. It has been the site of a church since 1225 when the first vicar was recorded, though the church has been rebuilt and enlarged.
