Lake Karapiro - Waka-ama competition

We went biking on the cycle track from Cambridge to Lake Karapiro.  What we didn't know was that the National Waka-Ama championships are on this week.  The domain was crowded.  We were heading for the Podium Cafe in the domain which has lovely food so were a bit concerned it would be too busy for us to get a table but the lunch rush was over by time we got there and were able to sit outside under the huge oak trees and enjoy the boats racing while eating out lunch.
Its well over a year since I have been on my bike but apart from a bit of a sore backside, I coped with it very well. Today is my husband's birthday.
