Juvenile
A juvenile Karuhiruhi was resting on a small clump of rocks just out from the banks of the lake at Te Wai Orea. Many different birds have been seen on these rocks in the years I have come to Western Springs in search of good photos of birds.
I had arrived in my office at the Unit almost exactly at 07:00 am, and apart from lunch, was dealing with things that needed my attention until I left just before 16:00.
The blue eye ring of the adult has yet to become large in this young bird.
