Derelict...
I haven't done a Derelict photo for a while so when I headed into town today I grabbed a camera and stopped at the old Abby for a couple of photos. I've blipped this wonderful old stone structure several times over the years. Several years ago someone bought the building and rumor is that they plan to make it into a lodging and banquet facility. Unfortunately, because the insides were almost totally destroyed by vandals over the years and because it has been vacant for several decades, there is a lot of work to be done. I think they must be dealing with permit and EPA issues at the moment as there are no signs of any work being done. The front of the Abby has two bit red doors, this being one. I love the look of the peeling paint, the broken windows and the overgrown vegetation - it's sad but at the same time strangely beautiful. So thanks to Marlieske for continuing to host the weekly Derelict challenge.
I went into town to get my hair cut today and came home with a whole new look. Of course, it looks great right now but the test will be how it will look when I wash and blow it out at home... I think I will like it though and if I don't...well, it's hair and it will grow. It is several inches shorter and with lots of layers which should lend themselves well to my thin, wavy hair.
Before lunch, Hubs and I took Jax for a nice walk on the Lane. It's about a mile, so not a very long walk, but enough to get us all moving a bit. It was a little colder than expected, but we all enjoyed ourselves. Jax is sound asleep on the sofa now, all sniffed out.
