Ready steady…

Backblip from Sunday. A couple of miles from my previous blip is an enormous riverside meadow that floods a few times every winter but it’s not often cold enough to skate. The recent freezing conditions have hit the spot though. The meadow was frozen solid and lots of people turned up to play. I love this unknown man’s playful pose pretending his dog was about to race.
There were people with skates, two ice hockey players, several quite swanky toboggans, others in their trainers or wellies just sliding about. The whole scene looked and sounded joyous.
Today the temperature went up to 6C but there’s still a lot of frozen water around. It’s been a real highlight of the year so far.
