Totally Wicked!

Today I had a lazy morning then headed into town to meet Sheila. We were at school together many moons ago and having had children at the same time then drifted in different directions, we've recently reconnected. When I mentioned to Isobel that we were meeting and said we'd first met when we were 11, she almost fell off her seat. The idea of knowing someone for 60 years, when you are right is just incomprehensible
We'd decided to go and see Wicked at the Omni centre. On the way, I popped into Coffee Saints at the Cathedral for some lunch. I'd hoped for a bowl of soup and had tried three places before hand, but all the available soups were either red pepper or something spicy whereas I'd hoped for a bowl of tomato and basil soup or something else fairly simple. Coffee Saints had a similar option, so I ended up with a toasted ham and cheese sandwich which came with a wee side salad and some chips. Along with a cup (not a pot) of tea, it cost almost £12 which seemed really expensive!
We headed across to the Omni Centre, our ticket plus popcorn cost £17.50 each of which £7.50 was for a regular sized tub of popcorn. I didn't grudge it, I've been looking forward to the outing, it just seems very pricey. I think I'm getting old.
The cinema was hilarious. Five others, plus us, and they got us to choose our seats in advance on a seat plan! We were well spread out as you can see . It wasn't the most atmospheric place I've been, but was perfectly comfortable.
We thoroughly enjoyed the film, we were very laid back in our comfy recliners, we'll need to go to see the second part when it is released, no doubt in time for Christmas again. The special effects were spectacular although I found Ariana Grande's voice a bit hard to handle at the beginning. I'm not sure if I got used to it or if it toned down.
At least I'm up to speed with the film now and can chat to Isobel and Eilidh about it.
Bridge this evening, I was almost too tired, but we managed to come second.
