I spent a lot of time last autumn planting more bulbs in the garden. Some of them have been poking their leaves above the soil for some days now. They got a shock last week and this coming week will be confused again as we move into double figures.

They got an indoor bulbs are now coming into bloom. This time last year we’d been without a boiler over a very cold Christmas and new year. Indeed it was not until the end of February that it was replaced but, as I see looking back, we had mild weather in January. Without the heat last year the indoor bulbs took a lot longer to flower. So good to see them now staring to brighten the room.
