Give way

It was too cold for mixing concrete so the landscaper, M, will come on Friday instead, as long as it's a bit warmer. But it wasn't too cold for me to spend much of the day outside checking that I have enough pavers for the next length of path (top of the picture). My spreadsheet that calculates path length according to path width tells me that I do, just. I moved the pavers to near where they'll be used, since the existing piles will be difficult to access after the shed is moved at the weekend.

As M had asked, I also tried out a layout for the 'crossroads' of the two paths. Hmm. The 'square' holes look twee to me, and in any case they don't work because three different paver/brick sizes meet here so the holes can't be square. (And I certainly don't like those granite blocks, but if I can't come up with a better solution, they can be placeholders for a different material.) It's not easy, and I need M's advice.

Needless to say, the painting didn't happen.
