Female Goosander

When Holly and I were walking along the riverside path on our way back to the car I spotted both male and female Goosanders on the far bank.

Too many trees in the way but eventually we made it to the bank. Sadly, by the time I was ready to take a photo they were back in the river being carried along by the fast flowing current. There was no way I could get both birds in the one photo and my best chance of a decent photo was to focus on the female.
