Early signs of spring sunlight
I got up early again today, in order to go swimming. My Fitbit does not properly record the effort involved in swimming. 30 minutes doing 39 lengths of a 25 yard pool does not (only) consume 30 cals, although it's better than the 2 cals it apparently consumed last week. Anyway, I was pleased to manage a good deal more than the 28 lengths I did last week. Next week, I will get above what I regard as par in the Leith Victoria swimming pool, namely 40 lengths. I'd like to get well over a kilometre soon, and up towards a mile (70 lengths). I'm going to need that to manage the Kessock swim which is much earlier this year than last year, so opportunities to practice in open water swimming are going to be more limited.
After breakfast, I went to work on the bike, via the supermarket which has a textile recycling point, to get rid of some clothing I cleared out of my wardrobe the other day. I'm not very good at that. I should operate a one in, one out approach. I've also gone through my clothes and promised myself that I won't just wear the same favourites time and time again, but I will try and wear everything that I have, at least once this winter.
At work, it was the usual round of meetings. Not much to be said about that. Home to eat something very garlicky for dinner. I had better not breathe over anyone tomorrow!
