Mapped

I expected the dismantling of the brew shed to take longer because the shelves were built to hold up to 240kg of beer but they unscrewed easily enough and the plasterboard came off quickly mainly because I'd never done anything to cover the screws. And there it was - plenty of water  in the cavity behind the plasterboard.

Since I'd already made the quick run to screw fix to pick up a couple of taps, all I needed to do was cut the pipes, put the taps on and close them off. Honestly, this heating now has more taps than Fred Astaire.

Pressurised the system and just waited an hour to check that the pressure stayed and then the rest of the day was spent putting back the plasterboard and flooring. Having done it I'm now not sure what the point was of mapping out the cables and pipes on top of the chipboard. I've already cut a hatch in the floor. I can just lift it and see the pipes. Oh well.

Still there's heating in the house except for the underfloor heating. I'll start on the  controller tomorrow. Looks like 1 capacitor, 2 resistors and (maybe) two bridge rectifiers need to be replaced. Maybe more. I'll see what expert Phil has to say. And then it needs new copper pipes to stop anything chewing through the new ones.
