There Must Be Magic

Think Spring!

The temperatures zoomed up into the low 30s, and it was practically a heat wave. My husband and I went into town to run some errands and buy groceries. You never know, this time of year, when it will be decent enough out to go and do things, so we try to seize the opportunity when it presents itself.

We stopped at both Giant and Weis, which are American grocery store chains; they are conveniently located next to each other just off Atherton Street. My husband did the Giant stint by himself, while I waited in the car, after dropping our last library books off at the return book bin located by the front doors.

We both went into Weis, and the first thing I saw as I stepped inside was these gorgeous golden yellow daffodils. Oh my! I had to stop for a picture! The lady who manages the flowers was there watering them and doing other plant stuff. I stopped to tell her how pretty the daffs were and thanked her for doing such a great job of it.

This is the springiest looking thing I've seen in a while, so here is my forward-looking blip for January 13: three daffodils, looking like spring, in what is still pretty much the dead of winter here. But hey, one can hope!

Our soundtrack song is Jeanne Crain, with It Might As Well Be Spring, from the film State Fair.
