Inevitably

Storm had to come. Brought down lots of branches from our old Poplars, landing in a farmer's grass silage meadow. Going to be a lot to clear up. But nothing compared to the damage all around this part of Bavaria. Firebrigades and council workers at their limits to remove trees.

Storm winds so strong that the 4 electricity cables on overhead lines from the village must have touched at some point, and party knocked out our supply - one of the three phases not working. I did phone the electricity company to report it, but didn't expect any quick response - one isolated houses versus whole villages.

Set off in the car for morning walk with Luna.  Lo & Behold, the electricity company were already fixing our fuse up in the village. Had a lovely chat with the guy. He knows of us from a number of similar events and indicated that my sending thank you emails to the company HQ in Augsburg  and copying them in the local maintenance depot near Mindelheim, goes down very well. Naturally in the afternoon I sent off the newest thank you email. This won't be the last such event.
