Life Below Zero

Very cold and windy today, I hoped to catch some of the drifting snow being blown across the ice. Sadly, it didn't happen whilst I was there. The blue sky and sunshine was deceptive and I couldn't stay out too long.

Tried again with the ultra wide, getting down low to emphasise the foreground elements. It was the shadow shape in this frame that caught my eye. A sunstar was a lucky bonus that I didn't quite expect. Never too sure where to place the white balance: cool for cold, or warm for the sun.
