Grainger Market

Since we’d decided to make a weekend of it we approached the day like full-on ‘Toon Tourists’ and, having met Katie at Olive and Bean for a fortifying breakfast, we had a wander round Grainger Market, visited the Lit and Phil and re-acquainted ourselves with the Northern Spirit rooms at the Laing Gallery. Then we got the Metro to the coast, visited Tynemouth Market and walked to Whitley Bay for fish and chips at the Fisherman’s Bay. We had intended to walk as far as St Mary’s Lighthouse but gave up at the Spanish City due to fatigue and the encroaching dark and headed back to town instead…
