Sundog

Caught as we approached the Charteris Centre on Pleasance for the monthly U3A meeting, it's a long time since I've seen a sundog.

I found the talk really interesting, called The life and Times of Esta Henry, of whom I had previously heard nothing, but she proved to be an indomitable woman, known for her high-class antiques business. The talk was given by given by Andy Arthur (extra photo) as one of his 'threads' - he has created 'an online compendium of interesting local history stories' entitled Threadinburgh, which I suggest you explore when you have a few several minutes hours to spare as he has explored sometimes obscure topics of local interest such fascinating detail.

Over coffee afterwards I had a great conversation with others who had their own stories to tell on local or family issues inspired by the talk, one couple actually live not far from me and shared an even closer local story.
