Back to Blipping..
Yesterday was a lost cause...I was quite under the weather and spent most of the day sleeping or lounging in bed with LA fires and their aftermath on my TV screen...and a list of errands that would have to wait for another day...
I did, however, start this book. It is next on our book club list and for once I have not read the book months and months ahead; so this time, I will most likely remember enough details to join in the discussion!
It is, obviously, an autobiography by Beverley McLachlin, the first woman to be named Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada.
"She was a champion for all Canadians from all walks of life and as a judge on the Supreme Court presided over charged debates topics such as same-sex marriage, euthanasia and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms."
So far I am enjoying the book. It is of special interest to me as her life's timeline, although she was a few years older than me, often reminded me of my own She was already studying law at a time when I was just entering university, but I would soon know of what she spoke eg: the challenges of being a woman in a man's world, and how although changes were happening, they were not happening fast enough. One cannot help but draw inspiration from her story.
