More New Toys
So a few weeks ago, I posted that I'd purchased a FujiFilm X10 to use as an "everyday carry" camera; largely to save me lugging my Sony where it really wouldn't be practical, like on my way to work, or just going into town to run errands. But truth be told, I just couldn't get used to it. It was old, slow, and just a bit too clunky and so, with some encouragement from my Mum, I returned it to MPB in favour of this Ricoh GRIIIx.
It arrived today, and I've taken it out for a test shoot this evening. So far, it feels much nicer to use. It's faster, the UI is more intuitive and, honestly, it just takes much nicer photos. Pretty pleased thus far.
One oddity though, is I kept getting an error saying it was unable to store the image I just took, meaning I lost few from my walk, which is a bummer. Looking it up, it seems to have been a problem a few users have had, with no super obvious cause. Fixes suggested included updating firmware, slower memory cards and even changing the brand of memory card used, but so far, since updating the firmware it seems to have solved my issue.
Time will tell, but hopefully I wont need to return this one too, or MPB are going to start thinking I'm trying to long con them...
