Lavelle

A spot of sunshine so I took the bike out for a little ride around the village to make the most of it and, as promised, to get a photo of a boat. The tide was well out so there was a choice of old tubs stranded on the shore or proper sad cases that live on the riverbed. But I opted for the Lavelle which has been stuck in this spot for years. You can see it here, top left, from June 2011.

Spent the afternoon mucking around with a broken minidisc car stereo that I bought off eBay to be a spare parts donor for the one that I already have installed in the van. Odd scenario of a machine that looks brand new, no marks or scratches and no indication of it ever having been installed but when you load a disc it grinds when it tries to read it, reports an error and then spits it out. Turns out to have been a complete lack of grease on the little rail that the laser slides on. Guess it was sitting around in a warehouse or back shop for years unused and any grease that was there has dried up. Working like new now.
