The Optimistic Spider

Despite the cold weather meaning there's not a flying insect in sight, for a good few weeks, there are some spider webs around our garden.
I picked this one to blip because I managed to catch it with a dark background, the others didn't show up very well due to the bright sunshine.
Talking of sunshine, on the 7th January I blipped the sun just managing to pop up over the Cotswold hills when I was walking back from school in the morning. Same time, same place, this morning the sun was fully up above the hilltops. 
Looks like Summer is coming with it's skates on! Yippee. Ok, I know I have some waiting to do. I can remember having snow in May one year.

p.s. Took the extra this morning and was going to use it until I found the web. Seeing PamakaSuzie's blip I decided to add it as an extra. Couldn't be the main blip, it's a dreadful photograph!
