It's Been Toooooooo Long!

You remember the Heron Rule along with its many iterations that include the Egret Exception.  I was just saying to my sweet friend, Jane, as we started our walk this morning that I did not really expect to see any birds to photograph this morning and then this happened.  Jane spotted him for me three times but he got spooked by other people walking on the trail before I could get a shot.  I was resigned to not getting a shot of him, but we saw him one last time through the tangle of bare branches and I managed a few decent shots, so Abstract Thursday is pre-empted by this shot of a Great Egret.
