Frozen meadow

Took our class out for a walk to the river and across to the flooded and very frozen meadow. They were fascinated and, although I couldn’t allow them to skate on it, they did enjoy throwing blocks of ice across to see who could get it furthest.
Back in the classroom, we watched videos about the fen skaters of the past. It was fascinating and left me thinking about planning a new mini topic…
