It's the 1st of August and the Edinburgh Festival is really cranking up now. Normally I'm too much of a chicken to take pictures of random strangers in the street, but during the festival people are crying out for attention so it's easy! This guy was quite happy to exchange a flyer for a photo - he is advertising a performance of Chekhov's "The Cherry Orchard" which is on from today till 17th August.

I suspect quite a few of my photos over the next couple of weeks are going to be of random people on the Royal Mile advertising their shows. I guess it makes a change from courgettes.
