Pity about the name

Ivory Curl is a common street tree in my part of Brisbane which is flowering exuberantly right now. A close relative of Grevillea, it's a native of North Queensland and grows well further south, even as far south as Melbourne according to online chatter.

Its botanical name is Buckinghamia celsissima. It was named in honour of Richard Grenville, the Third Duke of Buckingham and Chandos, who was (British) Secretary of State for the Colonies from 1866 to 1868. I can't find any suggestion that he was interested in botany or Australia. To me, his main claim to fame is his excessively-hyphenated name: Richard Plantagenet Campbell Temple-Nugent-Brydges-Chandos-Grenville.
