Wagyu Breef

Awoke with eyes sore and crusty from the glitter from the night before.

It was also flippin’ freezin’, but my cockles were warmed in the knowledge of just half a day to get through before I could sign-off for the remainder of the week and focus on the Pantomime.

Thankfully the morning passed in a frenzy of productivity and positivity and I was able to sign off and have a nice walk to collect some supplies. Had quite a busy afternoon by my standards and spent some time putting a shelf up in the kitchen - which seemed to cause a surprising amount of mess.

Then it was down to this evening’s performance, which was a lot smoother and less chaotic than the previous evening’s effort. I had a slight misstep in saying Wagyu Breef, which was seized upon by some of my fellow cast members. The audience were a little quieter than we’ve been used to, but still seemed to enjoy the show - I don’t seem to remember any misdirected boos or rotten fruit coming our way…….

In a quiet moment behind the scenes, I captured this moment of serenity from Thomas - who plays our Inspector Lau Zee - and felt envious that he could be calm enough to bury his nose in a book mid-show! He’s a cracking chap who has really grown in confidence over the years, never misses a line and somehow seems to know where any actor should be at any given moment in the show.

I’m also grateful to him for granting me permission to share this!
