Ballarat 2
We started the day with the various exhibits and activities here at Kryal Castle. The archery was fun. All the kids did well, and I took a great picture of Jane closing her eyes right as she shot an arrow. We saw a couple of equestrian displays with armed knights using weapons on horse back, the best of which was the jousting. I felt one of the helmets afterwards and it was very heavy! After this we went in to town, got ice creams and went to the Botanical Gardens. Bec and I read our book while the kids competed to see who could jump the furthest from a moving swing in the playground. At one point they spent a couple of minutes standing around assessing a measurement, oblivious to the fact that a little girl had come and claimed their vacant swing, thus forcing them to move locations. Bec and I laughed. After this we did an "escape room". (The general idea is that you get trapped in a room, decode clues, find keys, unlock safes, and ultimately escape from the room). We started in a very ordinary room, ultimately passed through the back of a cupboard, and found ourselves in a murderer's lair. (Jane sat in the original room and watched cartoons on Bec's phone which was probably a good idea). The photo is after our return to Kryal Castle. I took the big 4 up to the maze which we raced to complete.
