A view from St Swithin

Mother Earth

I’d a walk along the Don today to the the site of the old Grandholm Mill which has this very fine sculpture - called Mother Earth.

From Google -
The figure is draped in a shawl representing the cloth from Crombie Textile Mills, which once occupied the site. The leopards represent Aberdeen city of coat of arms. The sculpture is made from a welded steel technique, using a variety of different bars and plates, with profile cut 'spots' for the leopards.
