Boo!

We drove up to Birdlip to have lunch with Phyl, who was en route from Witney back to Chester. The pub we chose is smack bang in the middle of the A417 / A436 road modifications, but was nevertheless warm and friendly with an open fire and decent ale (but not coffee... barman doesn't know how to use the espresso machine...).

Afterwards, we decided it was close enough that we drove up to the owl fields. Light was dropping fast and in the chill air the owls didn't want to leave the warm air by the woodland, so the shot is very cropped. There was a moment, partially recorded here, of one on one as owl and kestrel fought over the same vole...

I don't think either of them won.
