Burn!
Today, Rob decided to tackle the very overgrown Kiftsgate rose in the orchid. It must be 12 foot or more across and all tangled and woven. The sparrows love it to sit in and squabble, but we have plenty of hedges they can use.
After snipping away for a while, he wondered if he could just set fire to the whole thing and stand back! Unfortunately (I suppose) it just had too many gaps in it to really catch, so it was back to snipping. By the end of the afternoon considerable progress had been made, and tomorrow it will definitely have gone. Not permanently of course, as once you have a Kiftsgate, it’s for life! Why did I plant two??
