Battle of the Amaryllis bulbs

The Amaryllis on the right is the original one, started ages ago but which only decided to wake up when I brought home another one (bought at half price in M&S after Christmas). However, it soon got tired and just pushed out leaf after leaf - couldn’t be bothered with the effort of flowers!

The second one (on the left) immediately threw up two flower buds, so I thought at least we will have one flowering Amaryllis.

Then this morning I noticed the original one has started growing what could be a flower bud - obviously jealous again.

However, it may be bluffing.
