Golden tree
For the first time in ages (well, basically a year), we were minded to head up to the Pentlands for a short potter. Just round Harlaw on this occasion, without the extension.
All the snow from last weekend has gone, and as it's been dry there isn't too much mud around. The reservoir overflows are busy though, suggesting there is lots of water further upstream in the floodwater system that was created a few years ago to manage the flows on the Water of Leith. The place was surprisingly quiet on a fairly pleasant morning, with no sunrise to speak of but - just as we were getting back to the car park - some striking light high in the trees. I chose that for my blip and added an extra which probably looks more light than it should do, because of my editing.
Heading back into town, we visited a couple of supermarkets and also the market, where we had what turned out to be a disappointing coffee and briefly saw meles and DaveH. We picked up a tasty bit of lamb which Mr A is going to roast in a bit for our supper.
