Fondue
Today we were heading to the peak on the right, behind the trees. It was much warmer than yesterday and a busier route, especially with it being Saturday, so there was quite a lot of compacted and icy snow.
In the end we only made it to the Col du Palastre as the wind was too strong to risk getting to the summit. Christian, our guide, estimated it at 80km/hr, strong enough to blow someone off the peak. Even the locals were turning round so it was definitely the right call.
The forecast is for rain tonight so it looks like we struck lucky. Tomorrow, if it's cold enough, we're going ice climbing up a frozen waterfall.
Fondue for tea! Yum!
