Juevenile Shag
This young Shag and his mate were sitting on the beach this morning amongst the surfers, dogs and lots of people walking by.
A few of us realised that it was not usual behaviour for these birds, they are usually around the rocks or quieter areas.
I thought they might be exhausted or hungry.
Called up the bird rescue place and spoke the woman there who confirmed what I thought. She suggested bringing them in to the clinic but I had Lottie with me.
I decided to leave the birds as they were but kept an eye on them, as did other people around.
Eventually one went into the water and swam off.
The other one shuffled up onto the top of the sand and looked like he was going to stay there resting.
Coincidentally the woman at the rescue place is a Blipfoto member too, which I recalled half way through our phone conversation!
