We walked along the coastal walkway

It was a hot day but there were a large number of walkers and cyclists out and about. Part way along the walkway is an outside cafe set up in a container with seating and bean bags amongst the trees and lots of umbrellas which were needed today. There are a few activities for children. The second image shows children trying to master stilt walking.
The main image is a view from the walkway showing three of the sugar loaves. Paritutu, the tallest one, is on the land. The others are in the sea. They are believed to be the remanence of an old volcano. The chimney beside Paritutu is part of a power station.
The first extra shows the Len Lye wind wand which wasn’t very active day because there was very little wind.
