Pheasant Wood by Munlochy. After the forestry area was all felled, they soon replanted it with a mixture of trees, mostly deciduous I think. The Rosebay Willowherb, or as we used to call it Fireweed, will have a few years of being in charge, until the tree canopy cuts out the light.
Dire forecast for the day - near continuous rain. Up early to take this snap in the misguided hope it wouldn't have started yet. I'd spied the sea of pink whilst cycling past the night before. A black and white film shot didn't seem appropriate.
Pink to purple seems to be the colour of numerous wild flowers at this time of year, some others being: Foxgloves; Heather; this previous Blip; Purple loosestrife; and another I noted on my return (unidentified as yet - a possible garden escapee).
