Arboleya - chapel

Arboleya is at 430 metres of altitude, the highest point, with  its near neighbour Naveda, on the west of Cabranes. The chapel, dedicated to Our Lady of the Carmen, was built on the edge of the settlement with money donated by people who had emigrated to the Americas and made enough money to be able to help. Across Asturias there are chapels, church restorations,  cattle troughs, and public laundries, all financed in that way. The main photo shows the chapel. The extras show (1) a row of working hórreos in the village centre, (2) a view from Naveda across to the distant Picos de Europa, and (3) a door and wall in Naveda.
