A gathering of Goldeneye

It has been cloudy and cold today but I decided to have a walk around Colemere.

There were a few Goldeneye on the mere, the males are mainly white with the female a duller brown colour and bight golden eyes.  The female here didn't seem impressed by the males!  They're diving ducks that come from Northern Europe and spend the winter here. 

This afternoon I went to F's to keep him company, he seems brighter in himself which is good.
