Hedge laying

Five of us had a jolly time driving together to and from Salen in the morning. Between the two journeys we attended an ecumenical service in Salen Church with the congregation made up of people from every church on the island, nine in all. The church was full and the singing lifted the rafters; it was great.
In my absence, Nick had made the most of the fine weather, continuing with his woodland management project but when I returned from a walk with Bertie, I found that he had taken a break and was doing a bit of hedge laying. Typically, he didn’t want to star in my blip.
