When in Need..

..post a book...there is always a new one on the coffee table. 

My friend Mary - a friend of very long standing who now lives in New Brunswick  - is an avid reader and while some folks have or would like to have a "personal shopper", I have a "personal book recommender"! Lucky me! 

Every weekend, usually on Saturdays, I FaceTime with Mary  - with pen in hand as she always has read something new she would like to recommend or NOT recommend!  

Yes, every week!  We were both high school librarians at one time and it seems to me that you just can't take the librarian out of former librarians?  Anyway, she is a font of information..and as usual, today recommended two books which I have now just put on hold at my local library. 

So. today I started reading The Mighty Red, which she suggested last week. I am enjoying the book so far, as I usually do; Mary is seldom "off" on knowing what I would like or not like. 

News Alert! I did more than just read today - heh heh - I actually took a car load of items I no longer need to the Salvation Army Thrift store! (applause please) and I did it in the rain. 

Yes it rained here today..a big cold front is coming, but today it rained so, of course, there will be lots of wet streets and roads to freeze and make walking hazardous for the not-so fleet-of foot. That would be me, but I do have those new poles and they do have optional sharp pointy ends. Whew.
