Hypochondriasis
Since my 80th. Birthday nine years ago I seem to have developed anenthusiasm for Hypochondria, the science of predicting whether minor new symptoms might develop into something more serious. It is a rich field for research. Whereas my parents had to rely on myth and hearsay in such matters, we now have Google and Wikipedia to lead us to possible answers. Over the years I have certainly become more knowledgeable.
Then there are also those leaflets which come with all the boxes of pills. The list of side effects in some is quite awsome and comes near to predicting that you might have a ride to the local crematorium in the back of a handsome black saloon.
Fortunately Mrs. K exhibits a healthy scepticism about my symptoms. Either she tells me that she has had them for years or she reminds me that there are not many old men of my age in the village who do Tai Chi every morning and can complete their Apple Watch Activity Rings on most days.
So there you have it. I guess this subject arose because this morning I managed to book the rare thing, an appointment with my GP
