Female kingfisher

Yet another grey cold day but I had a good morning.  A friend from the camera club came round to give some advice on the camera and then we headed to Budleigh estuary.  She hadn't seen the snow buntings that have been around for several months but are rather elusive.  This time one flew over us and disappeared over the beach.  We did try to spot it again but they are very well disguised among the pebbles.  We then walked back towards the new bridge and spotted the bright blue of a kingfisher amongst the rocks.  The tide was fairly high and it flew to several positions with us following it around.  As we were leaving we spotted it again in a tree, so I managed to get several photos of it in different locations, see extra.  We were both well pleased with the morning as we headed back to our homes.

After lunch we both popped out to a local supermarket and returned home. Time to catch up on my book reading as it's the book club tomorrow.  I'm also baking a cake as its being held in our house this time round.
