Charleston Falls Preserve
Friday
Under blue skies and sunshine, we actually rose above freezing today, for the first time in at least 10 days. I was home in the morning doing some knitting and my Duolingo, then early afternoon I had a mammogram appointment. The hospital is nearby, and parking is easy, and I was there and back in about 45 minutes. Not only that, but the results (showing no abnormalities) were on my electronic chart within 2:hours - can’t fault that for service! After that, we had to get out to enjoy the sunshine, and we decided to drive up near Dayton to visit Charleston Falls, which we knew would be frozen by now. Whilst not quite as spectacular as when we first saw them a couple of years ago, it’s still an impressive sight! We did the shorter loop down to the foot of the falls and then up and around the top, to the viewpoint looking down from above. The path along to the falls, and then the steps down to them had been pretty well cleared, but the loop up and around the falls were still snow covered, but we had our hiking boots on and our hiking poles, so we were fine.
