Regeneration

The national nature reserve at Thursley suffered a wild fire in 2020 which destroyed much of the board walks across the bogs and surrounding trees. The walks have been restored and the area is gradually regenerating - hopefully the dragonflies for which this reserve is renown will return in force over the years.  This was spotted as I walked across the island which had originally sported a copse of trees, mainly destroyed. The ferns and gorse are returning to cover the signs of burning.

Earlier I had taken lunch at Frensham Little Pond, prior to a walk round it. Robins were in abundance  -I thought they were highly territorial, but there were a fair number flitting around the cafe area (after food no doubt!).  My extra shows one very friendly little character enjoying the views across the pond with me.
