Derwent Valley

A rare beautiful day, and as I'm still not feeling fit enough for a longish walk, MrM suggested a drive into Derbyshire. But first a late-morning trip to the mobile unit near the health centre for one of those anxiety-inducing health screenings. In and out in 10 minutes, and then we finally set off.

We drove over Snake Pass (open again after the snow and ice have mostly gone) passed through some glorious countryside, and noted a few places to re-visit in future. We stopped for a wander round in Hathersage, and found a deli for lunch. The sandwiches were, let's just say, substantial and delicious!

After that we headed back to Holmfirth where I had an appointment with a GP. She ruled out a chest infection, but prescribed something for my throat. Fetched the prescription on the way home, and luckily I read the ingredients before taking any, as the medication contains cinnamaldehyde, to which I'm allergic!
