Monday
I have not travelled back in time, although it would have been nice to do so.
We went down for a coffee and pastry this morning and then headed to Dundee to the DCA to see the Bob Dylan biopic. A complete unknown.
I booked the seats on Sunday taking care to book the end two seats and no one behind me . Given the time of day and the film, there weren’t many annoying people attending. I mean those that constantly rustle, suck the dregs of their coke with the straw or constantly chatter. Phew.
We enjoyed it. It was from when he started out meeting Pete Seeger and a sick Woody Guthrie, to when he performed at the Newport Folk festival (and went off course to what he was asked to perform).
The reason for posting this collage was there was a scene in the film where Sylvie (Suze) jumped on the back of his bike and tore along the road with the wind in her hair.
This instantly took me back to another lifetime. Zakinthos, First week of October 1990. Before the island became as commercialised as it is now. Pavlos here hired a dirt bike (he had done his National service in the Military Police riding motorbikes so was experienced) and we spent a week, in the sun, exploring the whole island. It was magical. Great memories. Especially so as 12 days later he died as the plane he was piloting crashed. It was a horrendous time in my life.
