Cockatoo Island
Another day looking around Sydney. We endended up at Cockatoo island which was originally set up as a convict gaol in 1839.It then became a home for delinquent young girls and the homeless and then a shipbuilding factory island. It is incredibly stark, haunting and home to an artistic wave of humanity this weekend.Set up in it's various tunnels and spooky rooms are hundreds of artists putting together their show for the Underbelly arts show.We won't be there for the weekends festivities but were lucky enough to see them set up.
What a neat place!
