Kilted

Today was the P6 Burns supper, an evening occasion at school as befitting of the oldest kids in the juniors. The children could wear kilts with their school uniform instead of usual trousers / skirts, or other tartan flourishes. CyclopsJnr was VERY excited.

There was Scots poetry and singing, and P6 kids taking the important roles such as piping in, carrying, addressing and cutting the haggis, and toasting the lads / lassies.

The highlight of course was eating haggis, neeps and tatties along with some unidentified pudding which CyclopsJnr described as being cream and meringue bits with Irn Bru sauce (!?). No it wasn't cranachan.

CyclopsJnr had two servings of the haggis, neeps and tatties. This is a pleasing bookend to his time at this school mirroring the first day he had school dinners age 3 when he'd been at nursery there for perhaps a week, and he had a plate of fish and chips immediately followed by a second plate of fish and chips.
