Another misty start but by 10 o’clock I could see it clearing. I needed peanuts for the birds from the garden centre but after the recent flat battery I was reluctant to use the car for such a short distance.

Instead I drove to Grasmere first and found parking near the start of the riverside footpath on the north side of the village.

I walked over the footbridge and down to the river where I liked the reflections.
