A goldcrest paying a visit to the ivy

I was delighted to spot this goldcrest flitting about on the ivy plant climbing up the fence. It seemed to be feeding on small insects on the leaves and jumped about constantly.

I was lucky to get this single shot of its whole body. I haven't seen them regularly in our garden, and this has prompted me to find out more about its habits. They are even smaller than wrens apparently.
