Church Cove & Lizard Point (& a stinky Collie)
Did another, 'I Walk Cornwall', walk today. The sun was shining and the sky was blue. It was the prefect day for a walk. …............And what a lovely walk we had.
Initially I had to stay on my lead because we were walking on little roads, past lots of really pretty thatched cottages, but the minute we got to Church Cove, I was off my lead for the whole of the walk along the coast path to Lizard Point.
The views were amazing today. We could see for miles. When we got to Lizard Point, myself, Ann & Charlotte (our friend who was walking with us), sat on a rock to do a selfie at England's most southerly point. Ann complimented me on my behaviour today and said that I had been a very good little Collie.
And then do you know what happened?....................... She clipped me back onto my lead for the walk back to Lizard village (where our car was) and said, 'Trixie, you stink. You've rolled in fox poo haven't you?' And then Charlotte said, 'I thought she was a bit whiffy when we sat down for our selfie'. But Charlotte had been too polite to mention it!!
When we got back to Lizard Village, Ann & Charlotte bought pasties for lunch. They sat on a picnic table (yes it was that warm) and ate them. By now Ann was furious with me. I had to lie under the picnic table and keep quiet. She said if I did that I would get a little bit of pastie. Unfortunately I was so quiet and well behaved that she forgot I was there, so she fed all the pastie into her tummy and I didn't get any. Booooohooooo.
Needless to say that by the time we had driven home, the whole car smelt of fox poo. Even then, Ann tried to be nice to me. Instead of washing me with our outside tap (which only has cold water) she said that I could go into the shower with her and be washed in warm water and coconut shampoo. Well, I didn't want to be washed at all. And I'm pretty clever at sussing out what Ann wants me to do, so while Ann put a couple of my towels in the bathroom and took off all her clothes not a pretty sight, I crawled under her bed to a really inaccessible spot where she couldn't reach me. That just made her really angry. She left me there, had her shower, got dressed and then said, 'Trixie, when you can be bothered to come out of there, you'll be getting a cold shower.'
I like to think that I'm clever than Ann. After all if I don't come out from under the bed, how can I have a cold shower? I'm silly enough to think that I can stay there forever! Mmmmmm............... unfortunately Ann is clever than me. She let me stay under the bed for a couple of hours and then she yelled upstairs, 'Trixie, I'm going for a walk. Do you want to come?' Obviously I was by the front door before she could say, 'stinky Collie'!!! Oh no! She grabbed me, rubbed a whole load of dry foam shampoo into my fur, took me into the field for toileting purposes so that wasn't even a proper walk, and then rubbed a whole load more dry foam shampoo into me when we got back into the house. Then she told me to go into my bed and stay there. I went into my bed for about a minute and when I thought she wasn't looking, I went underneath the coffee table in the corner of the living-room because I know she can't get to me there and I'm still a bit worried that I'm going to have to have a cold shower.
I've been there for over an hour now, I still stink, Ann's still angry with me, and the dry foam shampoo is still out waiting for when I re-emerge. And it's my dinner time. I'm getting a bit hungry.
What do you think I should do Blippers????????????
